Wedding photo of Ralph and Stella Allaria Marfitano, May 24, 1919, in Ouray, Colorado.
"...they had four children, Joy, Roy , and lost the other two. Son, Louie, died as an infant (buried at Ouray) and daughter, Esther died at birth (buried at Red Cliff). Ralph started working for the D&RG Railroad in 1919 on the section gang in Ouray/Ridgeway (7 years) before relocatiing to be the section foreman in Red Cliff from 1926 until 1944 when he was transferred to Carbondale (1944-1959). He also worked in Rifle for 2+ years before retiring in 1962 with 42 years of service. They then moved to Glenwood Springs. He was well known by many people as the 'railroad fisherman.' Ralph was the section foreman at Red Cliff when the "Ice Train from Pando' wreck/derailment (Dec. 31, 1927) occurred after the train brakes froze.
Ralph passed away Jan. 15, 1980, and Stella passed away Sept. 15, 1985. They are buried at Glenwood Springs, Colorado." --Marfitano Family history, courtesy of Len Dumph
