R. blanda), the moose cow was enjoying the greenscape between Vail Public Library and Gore Creek. Observed browsing on red osier dogwood (Cornus sericea) leaf and twig, the moose enjoyed the native plant landscaping between Vail Public Library (VPL) and Gore Creek for much of the afternoon.

Johnnette Phillips spent many years as a civil servant in Eagle County, Colorado. She served as Eagle County Clerk & Recorder from 1978 to 1992. In 1992, Phillips was elected Eagle County Commissioner and served in that capacity until 2000.

This remarkable image of four mature bull moose near Piney Lake was captured by Bill Andree during winter of 2018. Andree is a retired Colorado Division of Wildlife officer whose territory included Gore Creek Valley, Piney Lake and the Piney River Valley area.
