Robert (Bob) Hurkell stands in front of Owens' Grocery Store delivery car. The grocery store was owned by W. E. Owens. He ran the store out of the front room of his home.
This building was the original Dance Hall for the Tuileries Amusement Park. It was later bought by the National Film Co. which sold it to Alexander Industries. It was then bought by the City of Englewood for $14,500 and housed the Library and Police and Fire departments.
The first crew at the dedication of the new Post Office on Sept. 17th, 1938. At the far left is James Adams, Postmaster. And on the far right is George B. Gilbert, Sr. Assistant Postmaster.
