On 19 March 2023, Mikaela Shiffrin, an Edwards, Colorado native, celebrated FIS Alpine Ski World Cup wins in slalom, giant slalom and the overall title. Observed browsing on red osier dogwood (Cornus sericea) leaf and twig, the moose enjoyed the native plant landscaping between Vail Public Library (VPL) and Gore Creek for much of the afternoon.

During the 1960s and into the 1970s, the Town of Vail had a Public Works building that was called "The A-Frame." From 1973 to 1978, "The A-Frame" was the primary site of Summervail Art Workshop (SAW).
