He owned and operated the Red Rock ranch and the Daggett store in Gypsum until 1897, when he went to Fulford, as postmaster and store operator. ..Later he was employed in the Eagle river canon. ... In 1891 he started publication of the Holy Cross Trail, and continued the publication of that paper until 1940."...

Adrian Reynolds, Jr., a newspaper man from Kansas who came to Eagle County. He first ran a newspaper in Red Cliff, then in 1918 purchased the Eagle Valley Enterprise in Eagle, which he ran until his death in 1948.

June Frey was the editor of "The Nugget", a student publication produced for Red Cliff Union High School. June graduated from RCUHS in 1947. Several editions of "The Nugget" are available from Eagle Valley Library District and at the Red Cliff Museum in Red Cliff, Colorado.

Jim Dilts, a pioneer of eagle County, seated in front of his cabin on Deep Creek, reading the Chicago Tribune. His feet are propped on a saddle and his dog is sleeping under his legs. Chaps and bridle are hanging on either side of the door. He was County Superintendent of Schools (1896-1897) and an attorney. This photo appears to be taken at the same time as 1982.001.024.
