He owned and operated the Red Rock ranch and the Daggett store in Gypsum until 1897, when he went to Fulford, as postmaster and store operator. ..Later he was employed in the Eagle river canon. ... June Frey was the editor of "The Nugget", a student publication produced for Red Cliff Union High School. June graduated from RCUHS in 1947. Several editions of "The Nugget" are available from Eagle Valley Library District and at the Red Cliff Museum in Red Cliff, Colorado.

Jim Dilts, a pioneer of eagle County, seated in front of his cabin on Deep Creek, reading the Chicago Tribune. His feet are propped on a saddle and his dog is sleeping under his legs.
