"Railroad problems" -- caption from Edwards School Scrapbook, page 16. The scrapbook was created as a youth citizens' league project between 1954-1955.
Several large logs appear to have fallen or rolled at the Eagle Mine in Gilman, Colorado. Miners are coming down the hill (right, center). The railroad line and a railroad car are directly to the left of the mess.

c.1890: Iron Mask Mill, Belden, Colorado. This old mill is torn down and a new one built in solid granite. Ore transport system, railcar ("Wabash" on side) and tracks visible. Snow on ground. This photograph is a postcard with a 1 cent stamp postmarked for 1911.

Steve Rich unloading mining timber at the bottom of the main shaft, level 16. The mining timbers were loaded vertically by the surface crew to fit the main cage that transported them down into the mine. A timber truck can be seen in the foreground and a "stern" warning sign is in the background.
