Photo of Animas River flooding over the banks, on back "Real photo 1910" is written in pencil, but the peak of the flood was in October of 1911. Animas City was the region (that has been part of the City of Durango since 1948/49) north of Junction Street to 37th Street.

The last of the famous old narrow gauge railroads, still operating in Southwestern Colorado. Freight lines and Summer Passenger service operate from Durango and Silverton. These famous little trains made history in the early days of the West.
